Etihad Rail unveils official passenger crew uniforms ahead of UAE train network launch
New attire reflects professionalism, comfort and modern Emirati hospitality values
DUBAI – The UAE’s national railway developer Etihad Rail has unveiled the official uniforms that will be worn by its passenger-facing teams ahead of the launch of passenger rail services across the country.
The announcement offers the first detailed visual glimpse of the human face of the upcoming network, which is set to transform mobility across the Emirates.
The uniforms have been introduced as part of broader preparations for the phased rollout of passenger operations. They are designed to reflect both operational readiness and the brand identity of a modern national transport system.
Uniform design
The newly revealed uniform collection features a contemporary grey base colour complemented by bold red accents. It will be worn by onboard hosts, station staff and all customer-facing employees across the future passenger network. According to the company, the design prioritises comfort, functionality and ease of movement, ensuring suitability for the UAE’s operating environment and long working shifts.
Tailoring has been kept structured yet practical, balancing professional appearance with everyday usability. Subtle design elements have been incorporated to ensure a recognisable and cohesive visual identity across all passenger touchpoints. The grey tones have been selected to represent calmness, stability and reliability, while red detailing introduces a sense of energy and momentum aligned with the national railway’s ambition.
The design process also focused on reflecting Emirati hospitality standards, ensuring staff appearance aligns with the customer experience expected in a national transport service.
Brand identity
The uniforms are positioned as more than operational attire, forming a key extension of the passenger experience itself. They represent the staff who will greet, assist and support passengers throughout their journeys once services begin.
Etihad Rail stated that the visual identity of the uniforms has been carefully developed to reflect the organisation’s values of safety, professionalism and national pride. The colour scheme plays an important role in this identity, with grey symbolising trust and composure, and red reflecting ambition and forward movement.
The reveal also reinforces the railway’s broader ambition to establish a modern and recognisable transport culture in the UAE. By integrating design with service values, the uniforms are intended to contribute to a consistent and premium passenger experience across stations and onboard services.
The organisation has emphasised that every detail, from fabric selection to tailoring structure, has been designed to ensure durability and comfort in real operational conditions while maintaining a refined appearance.
Passenger rollout
The uniform unveiling comes as part of a series of preparations ahead of the introduction of passenger rail services, which are expected to begin in a phased rollout. The network will initially connect key stations across the UAE, with a focus on maintaining high standards of safety, reliability and customer experience from the outset.
Future announcements are expected in the coming weeks covering station infrastructure, passenger services and journey experience details. The rollout is being positioned as a major milestone in the development of the UAE’s national transport network.
Etihad Rail currently operates freight services across its expanding network and continues to develop infrastructure connecting major cities, ports and industrial hubs. The future passenger service will extend connectivity across 11 cities and regions, forming part of a wider national vision for sustainable mobility and economic integration.
The introduction of passenger operations marks the next stage in the evolution of the rail network, transitioning from freight-focused logistics to a dual-purpose system serving both passengers and industry.
